Elizabeth was born in Kodiak, Alaska because her family moved from Kaguyak after the destruction of their Alaskan village during the 1964 earthquake and subsequent tsunami. Although her mother would have liked Elizabeth to have begun basket weaving in her teens, Elizabeth did not. Recently, she took weaving lessons at the Alaska Native Heritage Center in Anchorage. Now she is hooked. Elizabeth traveled to St. Petersburg, Russia to view baskets that were collected by Russian explorers and traders. In the Alutiiq Weavers vodcasts, she shares her impressions of the baskets and of Russia . Elizabeth works as an accounting technician at the Koniaq Development Corporation.
