Spurr’s Eruption

Spurr is an active volcano near Anchorage. In general, Cook Inlet volcanoes are a potential threat to air traffic in and around Anchorage, Alaska. The Alaska Volcano Observatory monitors the volcanoes of Alaska and will alert air traffic control and the public if an eruption is about to occur or evaluates the danger of an occurring eruption.
