Shawn Larson is curator of conservation at the Seattle Aquarium. Shawn works on genetics and endocrinology of the marine mammals and conducts ecological monitoring of sea otters and rock fish along the Washington coast.

Her work has been published in Molecular Ecology (2002) 11, 1899-1903 titled: Loss of genetic diversity in sea otters (Enhydra lutris) associated with the fur trade of the 18th and 19th centuries.
